WELCOME TO THE BRISBANE INDOOR HOCKEY
Indoor Hockey has been played in Brisbane for over 25 years. Brisbane Indoor Hockey Association conduct fixtures from October to March each year.
What is Indoor Hockey?
Indoor Hockey is a version of hockey which is usually played indoors. Apart from being played indoors the main difference between indoor hockey and outdoor hockey are:
- there are only five players and one goalkeeper per team
- the playing area is much smaller
- the goals are slightly smaller
- the ball may only be pushed and not hit
- the ball may only be played along the ground except for a shot at goal which can be raised
- tackles from behind are not allowed
- indoor hockey courts have side-boards along both side-lines which keep the ball in play
SENIOR MEN'S and WOMEN'S LEAGUE:
The Senior League consists of Men's Divisions 1 to 4 and Women's Divisions 1 to 7 and fixtures are played Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thurday nights.
JUNIOR LEAGUE:
The Junior competition caters for players up to the age of 17 years and fixtures are played on Sundays.
